Angelina Moreno Ouellet

Angelina Moreno Ouellet, 90, of Dickinson, TX, with her loving family surrounding her, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Houston, TX.

Born on July 27, 1934, in Tyler, TX, Angelina was the beloved daughter of Joe and Concepcion Moreno. Her life was a remarkable journey—one that held hardship, transformation, and, above all, love. Angelina walked a road that wasn’t always easy, but it was entirely her own. Spirited and full of life, she was drawn to the energy of good company and good times. In Galveston, TX, she owned and ran Angie’s Bar, where laughter, music, and dancing filled the air—an extension of her own magnetic spirit.

In her later years, Angelina became the heart of the family. She was gentle, silly, and endlessly loving. Her children and family respected and adored her, not in spite of her flaws, but because of the strength and wisdom they revealed. She taught them the beauty of resilience, the power of forgiveness, and the joy of celebration. As a devoted and doting grandmother, she made everyone feel seen, special, and understood, always bringing her signature spunk and that unmistakable twinkle in her eye.

Angelina found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved her telenovelas, cheered for the Astros like it was Game Seven every night, and could often be found with a Sunkist and bean dip in hand. Whether she was surrounded by stories and laughter or booting you out of her “Lucky” chair to take your money in poker, always followed by her signature finger dance—she made sure no one ever left without a smile and a “Now you take care of yourself, OK? I love you.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ouellet; her son, Lee Soriano; her parents, Joe and Concepcion Moreno; her sisters, Mary Reeves and Delia Culbreth; and her brother, Joe Moreno Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Beatrice Martinez and Rita Oakes; brothers, Romero Moreno and Robert Moreno; her daughter, Patricia Sanchez; and her sons, Pete Sanchez, Randy Sanchez, Jimi Iliff, Joey Reeves, and Mickey Ouellet; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry on her love and legacy with every family gathering, every story shared, and every hand of cards played.

Pallbearers: Pete Sanchez, Randy Sanchez, Jimi Iliff, Joey Reeves, Mickey Ouellet, and Kenneth Soriano, Honorary Pallbearer Patricia Sanchez.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 with a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston.
