Anna Page Walker, a long-time resident of Texas City passed away August 6, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Anna was born May 19, 1931, in Benton, Kentucky to Gentry and Dicie Page. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Merle and will be missed by friends and family.
Merle and Anna married on August 29, 1954. Together, they enjoyed 70 years of marriage. Anna worked at The Fair Department Store in Galveston later moving to The Fair in Texas City.
Anna also worked in the shoe department at Sear's Department Store. After retirement, Anna and Merle enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Canada in their RV and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna and Merle spent their winters in Zapata, TX where they made many life-long friends from across the country.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents Gentry and Dicie; brothers Kenneth and Louis Page; son Larry S. Hargrove and granddaughter Stephanie Hargrove-Henderson.
Anna is survived by son John M. Walker Sr (Lillian); daughters Cheryl Walker Jones (Dean) and Susan Walker (Sandra); grandchildren: John M. Walker Jr., Matthew W. Walker, Christina Walker-Keresztury (Steve), William (Brad) Jones (Melody), Aaron D. Jones (Sarah), and Larry S. Hargrove II; great-grandchildren: Chase Walker, Karley Taylor, Elliot Keresztury, Kolbee Keresztury, Katelyn Jones, Lexie Jones, Callie Jones, Taylor Jones, Lacy Henderson-Turpin, Jason Hargrove, Ashley Hargrove, Amber Hargrove, Destanye Salinas, Emily Benfield, Kylee Garza; great-grandchildren: Carter Turpin, Layla Turpin, Landry Hargrove, Delaney Benfield, Kindle Taylor, Ivy Perez, Evelyn Benfield; brother-in law Bill Vaughan; sister-in laws Beth Page and Barbara Page.
The family greatly appreciates the care provided by Traditions Hospice Care, especially nurses: Carlos, Robin and Rose who provided loving and gentle care of our mother. We also want to include Sable Craig in the care that she provided mom and dad. At Anna's request, there will be no services or memorial.
We are taking her ashes to be buried in Fairdealing, Kentucky with her parents. Instead of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter or Traditions Hospice Team.
