Anthony Paul Urbanek, 71, of Hitchcock, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at home.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., May 11, 2026 at Galveston Memorial Cemetery.

Anthony was born December 26, 1954 in Galveston. Anthony "Tony" was an auto mechanic at Benny's Auto Repair for over 30 years. Anthony enjoyed Sunday dinner and spending time with his family. He got a kick out of fishing, tinkering around the house, and playing with his good buddy Nylah. He also loved watching the Astros and Texans, as well as, any old movie on TV.

He is preceded in death by parents Jerome and Minnie Urbanek, and sister Eileen Urbanek Basser.

Survivors include wife Debbie of 52 years, son Andrew Urbanek, daughter Kerri Urbanek, granddaughter Amaya Urbanek, and grandson Kyle Hehnly. Anthony is also survived by sisters Mary Urbanek and Theresa Ahern, and brother Jerome Urbanek Jr. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
