Art was born April 6, 1929 in McGehee, Arkansas. Art moved to Texas City after graduating from the University of Arkansas. Texas City is where he met the love of his life, Mary and where he and Mary made their home. Art was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Art loved the outdoors - hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. He passed his knowledge of the outdoors onto friends and family. He enjoyed all activities involving friend and family. His grandson's, Arthur and Charlie were the light of his life.

Art served in the Army in New Jersey, during the Korean War. He was employed by Union Carbide as a chemical engineer and retired after 38 years of service. He was a member of Mensa after completing both of their entrance evaluations. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He completed his Master's in Education at the University of Houston.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents, Agnes and Melvin McCloy, and his brothers, Jack, Jim and Sam McCloy.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary McCloy Quaglia and husband Carlo, of Bacliff, TX, and Trisha Barnett and husband Willie of Galveston; grandsons, Arthur and Charlie Barnett; brother, Bubba McCloy and wife Bennie; sister, Wanda Fitzpatrick and husband Armand; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank special friends Joe Plowman, Donna Barnett, and Dennis and Kathy Loughran for their assistance and support in his later life.

Art charmed every person he met. We are grateful for the time we had with him and will hold him in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Texas Youth Hunting Program, 3630 Thousand Oaks, Suite 126, San Antonio, TX 78247 in Art's name.
