Betty Kerley

Betty Kerley of Texas City died May 29, 2016 in Tyler, Texas. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016 in the chapel of Emken-Linton Funeral Home, Rev. Stephanie Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Emken-Linton funeral home in Texas City.

Mrs. Kerley was born October 19, 1928 in Petrolia, Texas. She was a school teacher for 36 years. She retired from TCISD in 1991 after teaching at Roosevelt-Wilson for 24 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Kerley and sister Margie Hall. Survivors include her daughter, Katrina Anderson and husband Mark of Tyler; granddaughters, Meagan Davis and husband Robin of Katy and Morgan Black of Tyler; great grandchildren, Kyra Anderson, Bentley Black, and Matthew Anderson of Tyler and Caden Davis and Taylor Davis of Katy; brother, Ralph Shipp, Jr. and wife Betty Ray of Burkburnett.
