Betty Lundy

Betty Evans Lundy, 93, slipped away peacefully July 18, 2016 after a long, but graceful, struggle with Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia. She maintained her pleasant and unselfish personality despite a very unpleasant disease. Thankfully, she never forgot her family or closest friends and was able to enjoy their visits or photos of them frequently shared with her by her family. Her wit and mother's intuition remained intact until almost the end. She travelled the world but most cherished her time with her family.

Betty was born April 18, 1923 in Hatfield, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Lundy, both brothers and her only sister. She is survived by son David Joseph Evans and Julie Turner of La Marque, daughter Tanya Evans Jones and husband Jimmy of Bayou Vista; grandchildren David Evans of Nassau Bay, Brook Jones of Austin, Justin Jones and Bree Wichman of Friendswood, and Heidi Evans of Findlay, OH; great grandchildren Trevor and Keaton Evans, Christian and Kyah Stewart. Betty is also survived by Robert's family, the Tennessee Lundys; son Roland Lundy and wife Sarah, son Davis Lundy and wife Sherry; grandchildren Rob, Anna Catherine, and Madison Lundy, Jessica Barksdale and husband Matt, Jordan Fennell and husband Brett, and great granddaughter Crofton Barksdale.

Visitation will be at Emken-Linton Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00 Thursday, July 21. The funeral service will follow at 3:00. Interment will be at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.
