Betty was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City, she was known for her witty sarcasm and endless supply of arts and crafts materials. Her family lovingly remembers her for the annual Christmas ornament she always made for each of them, her cross-stitched pictures, and her crotched blankets. When her husband Dean, was alive they enjoyed camping and road trips, often taking their granddaughters whenever the girls could go. She will always be remembered as either Granny Grunt or Bean Queen from the time she burned a pot of beans that her daughters, granddaughters, and husband never let her forget.
