Beverly "Bev" Gilley

Beverly "Bev" Gilley, 64, of Texas City, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 24, 1961, to the late Jimmie Joe and Barbara Laverne (Bundren) Hogan.

Beverly devoted over 25 years of her life to working at UTMB, where she formed lasting bonds with her coworkers, all of whom she considered family.

A woman of many passions, Bev had a deep love for the outdoors, whether it was saltwater fishing, deer hunting, country western dancing, or simply enjoying time on the boat. Her love of life extended to her hobbies as well, from the thrill of blackjack at the casino to belting out her favorite tunes on the karaoke mic, Beverly was always the life of the party.

Her love for her pets was undeniable, and she found peace attending to her garden and nurturing her plants. Beverly was a wonderful cook and made sure no one ever went hungry. Beverly had a heart of gold. She was kind, thoughtful, and always ready to lend a helping hand. She never missed a birthday and had a way of bringing out the best in the people she loved.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Joe Hoagan; mother, Barbara Laverne Haarmeyer and husband James Haarmeyer; brothers, Dale Hogan and Glenn Hogan; stepbrother, James Haarmeyer.

Survivors include, her loving husband of 44 years, David Gilley; sister-in-law, Jo Hogan; stepbrother, Leon Haarmeyer; nieces, Amanda Dockery and Rhonda Sapp and husband Shawn; nephew Justin Marr; great nephews, Ethan Sapp and Eli Harrell; great nieces, Alaina Sapp and Zoie Harrell; cousins, Phyllis Greenwood, Heather Mersiovsky, Angela Tyler and Gina Mersiovsky.

Family will welcome friends and loved ones for a visitation 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025, with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
