Obituary

Billy Wayne Roberts, 75, of Bayou Vista, Texas, entered eternal rest peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Billy was born May 10, 1951, in Pasadena, Texas, to Delia Ann and Walter Louis Roberts, Sr.

Billy was raised in Galena Park, Texas, and was a resident of Bayou Vista for more than 50 years. He was a loving father, devoted grandfather, and loyal friend whose presence made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and being a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Billy led a successful career as a heavy industrial Human Resources leader and was deeply passionate about the craft workforce. His leadership touched many people throughout his career, and he was highly respected and loved by his colleagues and industry peers. Billy left far more than a footprint on the industry he served; he left a lasting legacy through the people he mentored, the relationships he built, and the impact he made.

Billy was also highly respected throughout the Galveston Bay fishing community and was known for his love and knowledge of the water. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was happiest at his home on the water or at the ranch, surrounded by family and friends, sharing stories and laughter. So much of what Billy loved throughout his life was shared with his brothers, Walter and James. From fishing and hunting to working, enjoying time at the ranch, and making memories with family, the three brothers shared countless experiences and adventures. Their bond was a special and lasting part of Billy's life, and the memories they made together will be cherished forever. More than anything, Billy treasured time with the people he loved. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them play sports. Whether he was in the stands cheering them on or watching GameChanger from home, he never missed a play.

Billy was a loving father to two children, his son, Blake Roberts, and his daughter, Kelly Chasteen. His love and devotion to his children remained a constant throughout the years.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Delia Ann Roberts and Walter Louis Roberts, Sr., and his brother, Walter Louis Roberts, Jr.

He is survived by his brother James Roberts and his wife, Teresa; his son, Blake Roberts, and his wife, Michelle; his daughter, Kelly Chasteen, and her husband, John; and his beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Caden, and Cole Roberts, and Paige, Elaina, Rylan, and Reid Chasteen.

Billy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the family he loved so dearly, the friendships he cherished, the community he was a part of, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2026 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.

Honorary Pallbearers are Kerry Sanders, John Parker, Paris Gill and Aaron Seaton. A special thank you to Cheronda, Tammy and Marvena who cared for Billy and were by his side during his final days. Your kindness, compassion, and loving care will never be forgotten.
