Charles Simecek

Charles John (Chuck) Simecek, 70, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at Houston Methodist St. Catherine Hospital.

Chuck was born February 6, 1947 in Cameron, Texas. He was a graduate of Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving with the 1st Signal Brigade. After a twenty-five-year career with General Electric, he continued his employment with Graybar Electric for another twenty years before retiring in 2009.

Chuck was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Houston Astros. He enjoyed working with his hands, and had hobbies ranging from needlepoint to brewing beer. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his family, and being a loving Grandpa.

He is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Angelina Simecek; brother, Delbert Simecek; brothers-in-law Frank Konieczny and Dwaine Davis; and nephew James Konieczny.

Survivors include daughters Stephanie Prendergast and husband John, Shannon Simecek and fiancée Brian Pashkoff. Grandchildren, Joshua and Emma Prendergast. Siblings, Georgia Konieczny, Larry Simecek and wife Debbie, Julie Warner and husband Charlie, Nancy Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friday, May 5, 2017, visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM. at Emken-Linton Funeral Home at 5100 Emmett F Lowry Expressway in Texas City. Services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery,
