Delbert Delaney

Delbert Joe Delaney, 91, of Texas City, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with Leroy Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Delbert Joe Delaney was born January 13, 1925 in St. John's Newfoundland. He served in the US Navy for three years where he met the love of his life Margaret then moved to Texas. He retired from Union Carbide with 30 plus years as a pipefitter. In his retirement he enjoyed wood working and spending quality time with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Margaret; son, Michael Delaney; parents, Augustine and Nina Delaney; numerous brothers, sister, sister in laws, brother in laws and nieces and nephews.

Survivors include daughter, Terri Hensarling and husband Burt; granddaughters, Lauren Ussery and husband Brian and Lindsey Oberholtzer and husband Jeff; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Delao, Kylee Oberholtzer, Tanner Oberholtzer and Callen Ussery.

Pallbearers are Jeff Oberholtzer, Brian Ussery, Lawrence Caldwell, Joe Stenglein, Shannon Hensarling and Joel Caldwell.
