Eddie Fincher, 44, passed away in Austin, Texas on July 2, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas. Visitation will be 6 8 p.m., Friday, July 8, at the funeral home.

Eddie was born April 25, 1967, in Shreveport, Louisiana. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Eddie was a Certified: Crisis Negotiator, Post Trauma Instructor and Emergency Shelter Manager.

In 1999, Eddie became the Case ManagerCommunity Services Coordinator where he managed the Community Service Restitution Program, Elected to the City Managers Employee Committee on Workforce Issues, 20052010. Member of the City Managers Childcare Task Force in 2006. He received the Public Service Recognition Award in 2004, 2007 2009. He was named Outstanding Public Sector Partner of the Year in 2006. Prior to working for the court, he was employed with Texas Department of Criminal Justice for more than 10 years working in three different divisions: Ellis I UnitDeath RowInstitutional Division, Internal Affairs DivisionHeadquarters and the State Jail DivisionHeadquarters at the State Capital Complex.

Eddie was known and loved for his keen sense of humor. He was the supreme jokester whose main aim was to keep people laughing and entertained. He had a huge heart and would willingly help anyone in need. Eddie will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Our loss is Heavens gain.

Eddie is survived by wife Mirna Partida mother Jo Fincher father Ray Fincher, Jr. and wife Judy sister Kelly Musick and husband Paul stepbrothers Aaron B. Eubank, Tracy Eubank, and Todd Cantrell aunt Jerry Tkac and husband Jerry uncles: Dennis Black and wife Lisa, Michael Black and wife Linda special friend Janice Young nephews: Casey Buck, Connor Musick, Mark Musick, Michael Musick, Wayne Sullivan, and Aaron Eubank cousins: Cheryl Hunter, Jay Tkac, Devin Black, Alex Black, Jesse Black, Cory Black, and Deanna Sullivan.

Pallbearers: Casey Buck, Paul Musick, Mark Musick, Connor Musick, Jerry Tkac, Jay Tkac, Pete Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers: Michael Musick, Bobby Pickle, Gary Sullivan, John Lawyer.

The family would like to extend gratitude to everyone, especially the City of Austin, Downtown Austin Community Court staff for its caring support and help through this trying time.
