Evelyn Wagner

Evelyn Louise Wagner, 93, of Texas City, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 in Webster, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Evelyn was born Evelyn Louise Harris on March 25, 1923 in Nashville, Tennessee. Evelyn attended school in Nashville through high school. She then attended college at Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas and continued her education at Lee College in Baytown.

Evelyn moved to Texas City, Texas in 1947 and worked for the Texas City Independent School District for 22 years before retiring tin 1989. She was a member of the Teacher Retirement System and several other Texas City clubs. She was a member of the Mainland Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Alvia" Wagner and daughter, Brenda Dickey.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Meche and husband Glenn; grandchildren, Alisa and Christopher Meche and great grandchildren, Ty and Mackenzie Nicholson and William Meche.
