Frances Marie
Trepagnier
January 30, 1927 – March 2, 2026
Frances Trepagnier passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026 at the age of 99. Frances was born on January 30, 1927 in Galveston, TX. After graduation from the Ursuline Academy in Galveston, she worked at the Galveston Railway Company. She married Harold Trepagnier in 1948 and moved to Texas City in 1953. After her four children were older, she worked for many years in the church office of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church.
She was an active and devoted member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, sang in the church choir and participated in St. Monica’s Group of the Altar Society. She also assisted with the RCIA Program, the Divine Mercy Group and offered prayers and communion to parishioners who were homebound, in the hospital or living in assisted living facilities. She enjoyed music, reading, avidly working cross word puzzles, and taking care and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Trepagnier, her sons Larry and Anthony Trepagnier, her parents Lawrence and Angelina Giuliani, her sisters Gloria Benecke and Angela Cantini, brother Lawrence Giuliani, sisters-in-law Helen Chuoke, Rita Strickland, and Mary Giuliani, brothers-in- law Henry Benecke, Jr., Clarence Cantini and Mitchell Chuoke, nieces Claudia Hinojosa; nephews Claude Benecke, George Strickland and Mitchell Chuoke, Jr. and great niece Claire Cantini.
She is survived by her daughter Francel Leonard, her son Paul Trepagnier and wife DeAndra; grandchildren Danna Leonard, Jonathan Boswell and wife Joanie, Jeremy Trepagnier and wife Lindsay, Alexandra Trepagnier; great grandchildren Robert Canales, Jr., Connor and Tanner Trepagnier, and Finley and Morgan Boswell; nieces Cynthia Travis, Kathleen Benecke and husband Dennis, Irene Hernandez, Linette Cantini, Julie Cantini, Cathy Fitch and husband J.B., Debbie Moninghoff and husband Ed, Connie Chuoke and Lynn Giuliani; nephews Stephen Cantini and wife Gloria, Joseph Chuoke and wife Ellen, Tom Giuliani, and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Ashton Parke Care Center, Bayou Pines Care Center and the Armstrong Medical Group for the love and care they provided.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 1604 9th Avenue North, Texas City, TX. A Rosary Service will begin at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am with Father Clint Ressler and Deacon Joe Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, TX. A Celebration of Frances’s Life will follow at Ponzini Hall in Texas City.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Trepagnier, Jonathan Boswell, Robert Canales, Jr., Joseph Chuoke, J.B. Fitch, Ed Moninghoff, Matthew Smith, Ted Molina, and Victor Pulich.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frances’s name to St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church or Special Olympics of Texas, Area 22 - Gulf Coast.
