Frank Yanas

Frank Yanas, 62, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family.

Born in Texas City to Juan and Rafaela Yanas, Frank graduated from Texas City High School in 1973. His career as an operator spanned many years at the local refineries in Texas City until his retirement from Ashland in 2015. He served as a volunteer firefighter, was a certified EMT and trained many local refinery employees in rescue, rappelling and firefighting through Texas A&M University.

Frank enjoyed traveling with his family and sharing his love of the water with his daughter. They listened to rock and roll every morning before school and spent many days snorkeling, fishing and jumping over waves, in between soccer practices and dance recitals.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and brother John Yanas (Lavinia). Frank is survived by his sisters Lilly Nunez (John), Margaret Cleveland (Roz), Dolores Anzaldua, Rafaela Obregon, brother Tim Yanas (Molly), daughter Elyssa Nicole Yanas (Joseph Bazan), former spouse Sylvia Yanas, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friend Ida Jeffries.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation in his honor from 5-7 pm followed by a memorial service beginning at 7 pm, Friday, October 7, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F Lowry Expressway, Texas City, TX 77591.
