Genevieve Sandra Amato Mount, 75, of Texas City, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Mainland Center Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
A celebration of life for Genevieve will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Genevieve was born January 3, 1951, in Galveston. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1969 and completed her nursing degree soon after. She was a nurse for 30 years between Danforth Hospital in Texas City, Bartlett Memorial in Juneau Alaska, and UTMB in Galveston; specializing in surgical care.
She is preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Amelia Amato.
She is survived by her husband Tommy Mount, daughters Jill Fenley and Becky Stephenson, son Steven Mount, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and daughter. She cared for and loved everyone in her life, and she was a blessing to this world.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
