Genevieve Sandra Amato Mount, 75, of Texas City, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Mainland Center Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

A celebration of life for Genevieve will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Genevieve was born January 3, 1951, in Galveston. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1969 and completed her nursing degree soon after. She was a nurse for 30 years between Danforth Hospital in Texas City, Bartlett Memorial in Juneau Alaska, and UTMB in Galveston; specializing in surgical care.

She is preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Amelia Amato.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tommy Mount, daughters Jill Fenley and Becky Stephenson and husband Preston, son Steven Mount and wife Jordan; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers A.J. Amato and wife Lynn, Joe Amato and wife Liz, and Charlie Amato.

She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and daughter. She cared for and loved everyone in her life, and she was a blessing to this world.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, St. Judes Children’s Hospital, and First Baptist Church of Texas City.
