George Boyd, Jr.

George Robert Boyd, Jr. of Texas City, went peacefully to meet his Maker on Sunday, February 4, 2018, with his family at his side. He was born April 24, 1925 in Woodville, Texas (Tyler County), to George Robert Boyd and Ura Love Pope Boyd. After graduating from Kirby High School in 1942, he volunteered for service to his country in the U.S. Army Air Force. After leaving the Air Force in 1946, he began working for Community Public Service/TNMP Company and retired after 45 years of service.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wynne Ellen Boyd Howard; and brother, Willis Pope Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Grace Best Boyd; daughters, Lisa Dianne Boyd and Susan Kathleen Boyd Brown (Kurt); grandsons, Davis Boyd Brown and Landon Walker Brown; and nephew, George Henry Howard.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hart-Mill Cemetery in Tyler County. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
