Harvey Thurston Votaw, age 78, of La Marque, TX, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born on December 13, 1947, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Thurston and Elwanda Votaw. He grew up loving ranch life, showing horses, country music and learning to play guitar and sing. He graduated from Temple High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin where he started a successful career in the steel business. After meeting his wife Aurora (Agie), they lived in numerous places before settling near family and friends around the Galveston, Texas area.

Harvey was known for his strong integrity, humor, work ethic, and generosity. He especially loved his entire family, always putting their comfort and safety before his own.

He is survived by wife, Agie; his Children, Hunter and wife Isabel, Joe and wife Karen, and Sindi and husband Mark; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jim and wife Patsy, and sister Elaine. He was preceded in death by Thurston and Elwanda, his son Roger, his daughter Robin, and his brother Dick.

Service and celebration of life details will be forthcoming.
