Harvy Chester McNeill, 80, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his residence.

Memorial Services will be held 4:00 P.M., Friday, November 23, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City with a visitation prior from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Harvy was born July 17, 1932 in Corsicana, Texas to parents Boyd and Catherine Dodd McNeill. He proudly served his country in the United States Army prior to becoming a physical science teacher and a football and track coach at Texas City High School for 30 plus years.

His love of football, coaching and his players always remained with him throughout the years. Anytime there was a football game being played, you could find him in the stands at his grandsons games, or in his recliner in front of the television. He truly loved the game and the boys who played it.

He is preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Catherine McNeill and his brother Johnny McNeill.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Lillian Sackrey McNeill of Texas City daughter Rebecca Rinard and husband Mike of Alvin son Steven McNeill and wife Shannon of Texas City brother Coy McNeill of Carrolton, TX sister Ethel Brader of Austin, TX grandsons Jacob Hill, Hayden McNeill, and Landon McNeill great grandson Addison Hill and numerous other friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
