James Arthur "PaPa" Ridenour, 82, of Texas City, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Mainland Center Hospital. A Visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
James was born on April 3, 1936 in Buffalo, Texas. He was a survivor of the 1947 Texas City Disaster. He graduated from Texas City High School in 1955. James served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years and in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years in the 308 Bomb Wing Squadron. He retired from Monsanto / Sterling Chemical after 32 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ola Mae (Connell) Ridenour; his brother, Edward Ridenour and sister, Linda Park.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol J. Ridenour; daughter, Andrea Ridenour; son, Troy Ridenour and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Troy Ridenour, Ariel Prall and fiancé, Victor Holland and Ty Ridenour; brother, Larry Ridenour and wife Frances; sisters-in-laws, Betty Collins, Maxine Hughes and Dickie; other family survivors, Mary Peek, Nell and Roman Lopez and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
