James Roempke

James Frederick Roempke, 83, of Texas City, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Oceanview Transitional Care in Texas City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 6, 2012, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:006:00 P.M., Sunday, February 5, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Mr. Roempke was born May, 18, 1928 in Galveston, TX. He was a tug boat captain and an operator at Monsanto. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and a decorated hero of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Roempke of 57 years son, Michael Roempke and wife Suzanne of Huntsville, TX daughters, Patricia Maureau of Katy, TX, Deborah Graefe and husband, Alan of Pennsylvania sister, Louise Scott of Dallas, TX grandchildren, Rachel Anderson, Michael Carlson, David Graefe, Lauren Carlson, Anna Morgan, Beck Graefe and cousin John and Pam Hatch.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimers Association.
