Jeremiah Alan Smith, passed away at the young age of 19 on August 7, 2025 in La Marque, Texas. He was born on May 18, 2006 in Galveston, Texas.
Jeremiah graduated from Texas City High School in May of 2024. While attending TCHS he took advantage of the industrial classes they have to offer. He spent 3 of his 4 years learning his trade in Pipefitting. During his Senior year he participated in the ICC Live Rodeo competition where over 20 other school districts participated in and won Grand Champion. At that time history was made for TCHS because no other student had achieved that award. On Career and Technical Education Signing Day he was proudly presented a Certificate for demonstrating outstanding commitment, hard work, passion and dedication to pursuing a career in the pipefitting field, awarded the Guardian Angel Scholarship and signed to work for Turner Industries after graduation.
Jeremiah’s accolades did not stop after high school. During his employment with Turner they nominated him to represent the company and Texas to showcase his pipefitting skill in The Skills USA National Competition in Las Vegas. Numerous employees from the Turner Industries company have reached out to praise Jeremiah’s work performance and his character. A woman that works for Shell as field safety, got in contact with a family member to share pictures that she took and to say, “Jeremiah was very dedicated to his work” and to tell the family that he, “was an exceptional craftsman, wore all his PPE, working safely at all times” and she was always proud of the safe work and safe work area they set up.
On Jeremiah’s spare time, he loved hanging out with family and friends, listening to music, eating good food, mudding, watching movies (comedies, action and classic Disney) and fishing.
Jeremiah is survived by his mother Della Smith, sisters Bianca Gomez and Emily Smith, brothers Christopher and Aiden Smith, Uncle Sonny Fuentes, Aunts Dawn Fuentes and Erica Perez (husband Tio David), Uncle Joey Smith (wife Kelly, daughters Savannah and Samantha), nephews Howard Long Jr, Roderick Long, Zane Escobedo, niece Angel Long, cousins Tyler, Myra and Kassie Fuentes, David (wife Gabby, sons Cinco and Noah), Eric and Dani Perez. He is proceeded in death by his father Jose Hector Smith Sr.
