Jo Ann Houston, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2026 at her home of over 70 years in La Marque, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Fouts and Flourie Emma (Lowry) Ballard; sisters, Opal Bond and Eunice Winkler; brothers, Terrell, Boyd and Jesse Ballard; her husband, James William Houston, Sr; son, James Terrell Houston and her granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Houston.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Ann McCrary; sons, James William Houston, Jr. and James Brent Houston; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Houston; granddaughter, Jennifer Arnold and grandson, Alex Houston.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. Pastor Doug McBrayer will officiate.
