Joan Ireland

Joan Estelle Ireland, 85, of Texas City, Texas passed away on November 14, 2017 at Bay Area Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the First Baptist Church located at 3210 Gulf Freeway in Texas City.

Joan Ireland was born in Milo, Maine on November 27, 1931. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Texas City. She was the Valedictorian for class of 1950 from Ashland High School. Joan was a Companion Care Giver for three different people over a 20-year span. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing canasta with her friends
Joan loved to travel and spend time with her sons in California. In the seventh grade, she made the decision to follow the teachings of Christ and the following year she was baptized in the church.

She is preceded in death by mother, Gertrude Pierce; father, Francis Pierce; brothers, Weston Pierce, Donald Pierce and Walter Pierce.

Survivors include children, Patricia Arnold, David Ireland, Christopher Ireland and Martha Denison; five grandchildren, Tony Arnold, Katelyn Arnold, Stephen Ireland, Angel Molt and Sarah Ireland and one great granddaughter, Kira Ireland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Texas City.
