John Coffey

John Howard Coffey, 85, of Texas City, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 2, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 1, 2012 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City.

John was born July 30, 1927 in Baird, Texas to Charlie Howard Coffey and Sally Jane Brown. He worked for Union Carbide Corporation as an electrician for 30 years before retiring in 1982. John proudly served his country on the USS Mansfield and USS McKean in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1948. He enjoyed shrimping on the BettyL, fishing, playing dominoes 42, dancing and dirt track racing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his childrens mother, Billie Mae Coffey.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years Patricia EplerCoffey daughters Phyllis A. Finn and husband Peter L., Donna G. Green and husband Donald Les, Vickye R. Ledbetter stepson Quentin Epler and wife Kimberly stepdaughter Missy Bullock and partner Robert Sandoval grandchildren Sherri L. Quesnel and husband Todd, Renee Garland and husband Tommy, Angela R. Henne and husband Mark, Lisa M Teague and husband Billy, Donald Green, Jr. and wife Toni, Jonathan Ledbetter and wife Angela, Stephanie L Shockey stepgrandchildren Chris Walters, Matt Bullock, Dustin Bozeman Greatgrandchildren Patricia Mae Salinas, Michael Gallagher, Kiefer Teague, Kennedy Teague, Angel Nicole Salinas, Alexandria Grace Garland, Makenzie Jewel Garland, Austin Carter Green, Koby Andrew Ledbetter, Ian Howard Ledbetter, Kirstin Denny, Madison Nicole Quesnel, Peyton Elise Quesnel, Riley Tanner Quesnel stepgrandchildren Ayana Sandoval and Monica Sandoval and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Ledbetter, Donald Green, Jr., Tommy Garland, Todd Quesnel, Billy Teague and Quentin Epler. Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Gallagher, Kiefer Teague, Chris Walters, Matt Bullock, Robert Sandoval, Raymond Epler and Mark Henne
