John "Piggy" Gerami

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of John “Piggy” Gerami, on October 1, 2025. He was born and raised in Galveston, Texas on May 26, 1938. Piggy lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends who cherished him dearly. He graduated from Kirwin High School in 1956. He was a Retired Machinist Foreman at Farmer’s Marine Copper Works and owned Gerami Machine Shop. He was known for his love of cooking, a passion that began during his time in the National Guard. John also had a playful side — he enjoyed picking on people in a way that was always filled with love. He found joy in gardening and in caring for his animals, which brought him peace and happiness throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertie Mae Gerami; his brother, Robert “Bobo” Gerami and wife Rochelle; his sister, Darlene Boening; and his brother-in-law, Sam D’Auria.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Diane Esclavon Gerami; his children, John and Michelle Gerami, Kenneth and Jessica Gerami, Debra and Cris Cristan, Willi Gerami, and Marlene and Adrian Ambriz; his sisters, Earlene and her husband Wayne Phister, and Rose-Mary D’Auria (Pee Wee); and his brother-in-law, Albert Boening, Jr. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Allegiance Hospice for their compassionate care and support during this time.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Ronnie Mills officiating.

Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, in Hitchcock, Texas.

John’s warmth and love for his family will never be forgotten.
