John Rosenblad

John Clinton Rosenblad, cherished son of the late Lawrence Rosenblad, MD and Joan Rosenblad, MD, dearly loved brother of Nancy Rosenblad Bedford (Marc) of Austin, Susan Rosenblad Parish (Jack) of The Woodlands, and Lawrence Rosenblad, Jr. (deceased), passed away from heart issues, complicated by diabetes, at his home in Dickinson on January 8. Born in 1952, John grew up in Texas City, had his early religious experiences at the First Methodist Church, and graduated from Texas City High School in 1970. He went to UT Austin, completing his degree in physical therapy at the UT Medical Branch in Galveston in 1974. He pursued additional studies in biochemistry and medicine but confronted emotional issues which continued to present challenges to him throughout his adult life.

Still, he continued to live his life, practice in the physical therapy profession, and maintain relationships with family and friends. He was a lifelong sports fan, beginning with participation in little league baseball and golf teams and later being an avid fan of the Astros and Longhorns. John enjoyed cooking, especially outdoor grilling, for family gatherings. He was generous with gifts and donations to charities and had a special place in his heart for children and older adults. John provided constant in-home care for his mother during her last several years, for which we were most thankful and appreciative.

In addition to his sisters, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law Gail, John is survived by his four nieces--Susan, Linda, Rachael, and Sharon and their families. We will all miss him.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday January 17, 2025 with a visitation from 12:00 -1:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. A burial will follow at Forest Park East in Webster, Texas.
