John Yanas Sr

John Yanas, Sr., 71, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at UTMB in Galveston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Church in Texas City. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016 with a rosary to follow at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

John Yanas, Sr. was born April 20, 1944 in Texas City Texas. He was a retired pipefitter who loved fishing, camping and long rides to the dike. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 1118 AF: AM.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Rafaela Yanas.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lavinia Yanas; daughter, Sonya Yanas - Zeiner and husband Michael; sons, John Yanas, Jr. and children Storym and Tyra Yanas, James Yanas and wife Angela and children Erin and Julian Yanas; brothers, Frank Yanas and Tim Yanas; Sisters, Lilly Nunez, Margaret Cleveland, Rafaela Obregon and Delores Anzaldua.
