Joy Holder,95, of Texas City, Texas went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Galveston, Texas on May 5, 1928. Joy lived in Texas City with her adoring husband Morgan Holder and was married to him for 66 years until his passing in 2017. Joy then lived with her daughter, Lori Kramer and family, in San Antonio and then Manvel, Texas. Joy loved God, her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many other friends and family.
One of Joys greatest gifts and passions was crafting and woodworking. She got tremendous joy creating things for her church, family and friends.
Joy is preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Holder; parents, Waneta Strickland and Charles Strickland; sisters, Beth Howell and Kathryn King; granddaughter, Alexandra; and great-granddaughter, Emily.
She is survived by her sons, Tommy, Rick and Barry; daughter, Lori Kramer; daughters-in-law, Katie, Marta, and Mary; son-in-law, Ralph; grandchildren, Scott, Kristen, Katrina, Eric, Elisabeth, Ashley, Tanya, Madison and husband Matt, and Sam; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aidan, Matthew, Arielle, Kathryn and Emmalynn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 8200 25th Avenue North, Texas City, 77591. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
