Lillian Kather, 91, of League City, TX, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at home in League City.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at St. Mary's Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026 with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
Lillian (McAllister) Kather was born December 30, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Mary Vitale McAllister and Carl Mc Allister. She married Heinz Kather on November 26, 1960 in Chicago. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother of 3 Children. She dedicated 13 years of service to the Tupelo Public School District, working as an assistant teacher in the special education department. Lillian was an avid reader and enjoyed expressing her creativity through arts and crafts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Heinz Kather, her brother, Robert McAllister, her twin brother, Carl McAllister, her mother Mary Vitale McAllister, her father, Carl McAllister as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Couch and husband Michael of League City, TX; sons, Michael Kather and wife Sue of Danbury CT. and Robert Kather of Corinth, MS; grandchildren, Brittni Kather, Sydney Prince and husband Ethan, Jack Kather and wife Grace, Lilly and Henry Kather; great grandchildren, Ivey and Willow Prince and Emelia Kather; nephews, Robert (Rob) McAllister and wife Kim, Peter McAllister and wife Melanie; nieces, Sylvia Hulk and husband Ronny, Svea Kather Woitaschek and Connie Kather.
Pallbearers are Clayton Culak, Robert Kather, Jack Kather, Robert McAllister, Randy Adair and Michael Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Kather, Ralph Accardo and Tracy Lummas.
