Marcelina Moreno, 98, of Santa Fe, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with a Rosary to follow.

She was born in Yorktown, Texas on January 16, 1917 to Crecemecio and Aniceta Banda. She retired from UTMB after 33 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her, and had a genuine concern for people and was always willing to help others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Anita Gill and her husband of 67 years, Bernardo Moreno; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Elvira Sanchez and son-in-law Mario Sanchez of Santa Fe, Texas; son-in-law, Mario Gill of Houston, Texas; sister, Pauline Compean of Victoria, Texas; grandchildren, Joseph Tejeda of Houston, Texas, Darden Tejeda and wife Cindy, Renee Bauer and husband Brad, Angela Rodriguez and husband Oscar, all of League City, Texas; great grandchildren, Tonya Gonzalez, Amy Moreno, Ryan Tejeda and Blake Bauer; 8 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brad Bauer, Ryan Tejeda, Manny Ramirez, Joe E. Walters III, Marco Guerra, and Oscar Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are Mario Sanchez, Joseph Tejeda, Darden Tejeda and Mario Gill.

The Family would like to extend special thanks to her daughter and son-in-law Elvira and Mario Sanchez for taking care of her through these last few years and doing it with love, patience and courage. A special thanks to Denson Home Health and Hospice Care team for the wonderful care they gave her the past month.
