Margaret "Peggy" Blizzard

Margaret "Peggy" Blizzard, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 8th, 2025 following a short illness.

Peggy, born on March 5, 1948 in Hidalgo County, Texas, was the daughter of Fred and Waneta Morford. She spent the majority of her life in Texas, living primarily in Texas City, Texas, where she raised her only son, Adam. Peggy worked at the Kennedy Space Center in her youth and retired from the College of the Mainland, where she worked in Communications.

Peggy was active and beloved in the community of St. John's United Methodist Church of Texas City, where she served in many capacities, but notably in kitchens and serving the children. Her volunteer work included extensive work with UMArmy, and she lovingly referred to the children there as "her kids." After moving to Georgia, she was active in Lewis Memorial Church of Grovetown, where she was active with "the sisters" women's ministry.

Peggy raised her only son, Adam, by herself and was his biggest fan: church mom, band mom, and later proud Navy mom. She delighted in her three grandchildren: AJ, Sebastian, and Iliana, and was an important part of their lives. They adored her as much as she adored them.

Peggy leaves a legacy of love behind her, especially in her friends. She had deep and vast friendships spanning 50+ years in her Texas City family. She cared for her own "Aunt Jean," a family friend, until her death. She will be mourned by countless former coworkers, church mates, and friends across two states and be deeply missed.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Waneta, her sister Pat, and her nephew Kevin. She is survived by her loving son Adam, her grandchildren AJ, Sebastian, and Iliana, and her daughter-in-law Melissa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any charity that Peggy championed.

Family will welcome friends and loved ones for visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
