Margaret Louise Thompson Ingram, 96 of Texas City, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 15, 2026. Born September 13, 1929 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Hershel and Irene (Hendricks) Thompson. She was raised in Junction City, Arkansas, graduated from Junction City High School and went to Monroe Business College. After business school she worked at Arkansas Power & Light. She met and married the love of her life, James R. Ingram. While in Arkansas, she had her first son, James R. Ingram, Jr. and a year and half later they moved to Texas City. While in Texas City, she had her second son Steven A. Ingram. She later got a job at American Oil, later Amoco Oil where she finished her career in the Benefits Department until her retirement in January of 1988. Everyone knew that her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved cooking and would have Sunday dinners for the whole family. Her favorite thing to make was her famous carrot cake, on everyone's birthday. She would not go anywhere without her hair and makeup been just right, always stylish and you would always see her in her high heels and God knows she wore them all the time. She loved to play bridge, which she did with the same group for over 40 years, and loved to play golf with her husband, best friend, Joyce Smith and husband Richard. She served the Lord and was a long member of First United Methodist Church in Texas City, until her health no longer allowed her to attend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, James Ingram, one brother, H. W. Thompson, his wife Linda Thompson, her brother in laws, William Ingram and C. "Red" Ingram.

She is survived by sons James "Jim" Ingram and wife Ruth, Steven Ingram and wife Deidra, both of Santa Fe, granddaughter Brittany Ingram Saavoie and husband John, of Clear Lake, grandson Blake Ingram and wife Kimberly Brown Ingram, great-granddaughters Kynlee and Kendall Ingram of Santa Fe, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

We would like to thank our caregivers, Patricia Woodkins and Pat Henry for providing the wonderful care, compassion and dedication you gave our mother and it is appreciated very much. We also want to thank her friend Annette Barry for always caring and making sure our mother's hair always looked right. Her favorite outing, every Friday.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
