Margaret "Louise" DeMaet

Margaret “Louise” DeMaet went to be with her Lord and her husband, Ken, on February 8, 2024. She was born July 14, 1926, in Bartlett, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Louise was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 70 years. She was a survivor of the Texas City explosion of 1947. She was a member of the Queen of Peace Ladies Guild and was a founding member of the Crazy Eight Social Club.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth DeMaet and her sister, Betty Joe Cheek.

She is survived by her sister, Jeanne Klein; son, David DeMaet, and his wife Joan; daughter, Theresa Hayden, and her husband, Joe; grandchildren, Matt and Maryann DeMaet and family; Casey and Clint DeGroot and family; Nick and Mykel Hayden and family; and Mallory Hayden.

A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a service following at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, the address of which is 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, Texas 77591.
