Margie Cureton Blackburn went to be with her Lord on November 24, 2017 at 2:00 in the morning after a long struggle with breast cancer and Alzheimer's.

Margie Neal was born August 8, 1921 in Nacogdoches county to Norman Alford Daniel and Mattie Mae Peacock. She is preceded in death by sisters, Lateen Hall, Malie Baugh, Merle Lanier; husbands, Homer Haney, Calvin Cureton and Alton Blackburn, daughter-in-law, Clara Haney and grandson, Henry Haney, Jr.

She is survived by sister, Kathleen Schwartz; sons, Henry Haney of Galveston and Danny Haney and wife Pamela of San Antonio; grandchildren, Holly LaRoe of Texas City, Hilary Soules of Austin, Jonathan Haney and wife Kaleigh of the Woodlands; great-grandchildren, Erin Haney, Hunter Hamilton, Wendell Hamilton and Benjamin Soules; great-great granddaughter, Gaia Haney-McDonald. She also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews. In the last decade of her life, Lillian Shilk, served not only as her caregiver but as a loving friend inspiring her each day.

Her cremains will be laid to rest with a graveside service to be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
