Marguerite was born August 6, 1922 in Galveston, Texas, the oldest of 3 daughters born to Frank Adolph Frenzel and Marguerite Tacquard Frenzel.

At age 21, she married fellow Galvestonian Louis Schaper, who was then studying Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M College. After his graduation in 1945, they made their home in Texas City where Louis opened Texas City Animal Clinic. Marguerite remained a resident of Texas City until her death. She focused on being a homemaker and mom to 4 children. She was a faithful member of the Memorial Lutheran Church for more than 65 years, active in ministries there until her health kept her from doing so. Marguerite also volunteered for years as a Candy Striper at Mainland Center Hospital. She enjoyed several close friendships in her life, including those with Laura Sosnowy, Ruby Temple, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, Irene Murff and Gwen Bulaich, but her most fulfilling times were when her entire family was able to spend time together.

Marguerite is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dr. Louis Schaper; her, second husband, Charles Wern, she is survived by her 4 children, Louis "Rocky" Schaper, Jr. and Rita Cole of Texas City, Dr. Mark Schaper and wife Gina of Pflugerville, Matthew Schaper and wife Johnnie of Dickinson; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and her sisters, Yvonne Falkenhagen of Galveston and Gloria Davis of Texas City.

Pallbearers will be Greg Schaper, Mike Waite, Brian Martin, Judson Schaper, Eric Cole and Jason McConniel.

The Family wishes to thank the wonderful ladies from Harbor Hospice and Visiting Angles for their compassionate care during Marguerite's final days.
