Maria "Gloria" Perez

Maria Gloria Perez, 75, of Texas City, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
 
Gloria’s life will be celebrated in a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, followed by a burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
 
Born on May 1, 1948, in La Féria, Texas, Maria relocated to Texas City in 1964, where she established deep roots and touched the lives of many.
 
Gloria was a woman of remarkable strength and compassion, defined by her unwavering love for her family and her community. A dedicated and hardworking individual, she spent most of her life as a nursing aide and in housekeeping roles, where she found joy in serving others. Her tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew her.
 
Gloria’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and generosity. She was always willing to provide support for her family and a beacon of hope for those in need. Her warm smile and caring nature brought comfort to many, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire for generations to come.
 
In addition to her parents, Santos and Virginia Perez, Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Esther Pletcher and Noe Perez.

Gloria is survived by her son, Sheldon Ray Perez, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by her family and friends.

Gloria's spirit will be carried on by those who knew her best, including her dear friends and family, who remember her fondly for her gentle guidance and unwavering love.
 
The honor of pallbearers will be held by Adrien Shipman, Jonathan Perez, Marc Perez, Ronnie Lozano Jr., Miguel Lozano, and Steven Falcon, a testament to the impact Gloria had on the lives of those around her.
 
Maria Gloria Perez will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was loved beyond measure.
