Martha Sue Hunter Scoggins, of Texas City, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 in League City at the home of her daughter, where she resided at the age of 91. She was born February 18, 1934 in Wills Point, Tx to George Vance Hunter, Sr. & Iva Mae Hunter.
While attending Texas City High School, Martha met her future husband Glenn Scoggins. Glenn & Martha celebrated 73 years of marriage before his passing on January 26, 2023,
Martha enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her Great-Granddaughters always request her chocolate cake for any occasion, especially on their birthdays. Her Brother, George Hunter, Jr. always requested her special coconut cake.
She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Scoggins. Parents, George Vance Hunter, Sr. & Iva Mae Hall Hunter. In-Laws, Howard Scoggins, Sr. & Ethel Scoggins. Son-in-law, Bronk Clay Morgan. Brother & Sister-in-law George & Sylvia Hunter. Sister & Brother-in-law Charlotte & Joe Cotharn. Brother & Sister-in-laws; Elbert & Melba Pugh, Howard & Lee Scoggins, Lewie & Millie Scoggins, Joanna Scoggins, Eunice Scoggins. Grandson, Vance Hunter Remmert.
She is survived by her Daughters, Pam Scoggins Remmert (Earl), Cindy Scoggins Thrailkill. Grandchildren, Kristen Johnson Marullo (Kevin), Chad Johnson (Brandi), Zachary Remmert (Kristal). Great-Grandchildren, Kathleen Johnson, Ashlyn Gray, Gracie Johnson, Wyatt Remmert, Lillian Remmert, Evelyn Remmert, Diana Martin & Olivia Martin. Sister, Barbara Flanagan. Sister-in-law, Gloria Scoggins Linton. Brother & Sister-in-law, Jerry & Nedra Scoggins Brandt. Brother-in-law, John Scoggins. Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
Appreciation is extended to an amazing Hospice Nurse, Mrs. Laura Labry, with Magnolia Hospice Care, LLC. As well as her care team for the exceptional compassion and comfort care during her final journey.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones for a visitation on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home Texas City, Texas.
