Myrtle Reeder

Myrtle Kandy Reeder, 85, of Dickinson, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Bayou Pines Care Center in La Marque.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX. A Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 4, 2013 also at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Kandy was born July 25, 1927 in Sandoval, TX to parents James H. and Minnie Jahn Knight. Kandy was active in many business ventures as a Homebuilder and Realtor in Galveston County throughout her adult life. She was a member of the Galveston County Housing Finance Board and served as the state and local President of the Business and Professional Womens Club of America. She was also listed in Personalities of The South in the 1970s. She and husband Ralph were avid antique automobile enthusiasts and were Lifetime Members of the Space City Ts.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph G. Reeder, Sr.

Survivors include her son R.G. Bubba Reeder Jr. and wife Debra daughter Debye Jo Welch brother Carl Knight grandchildren Jody Rae Reeder, Jarrod Reeder, and Sarah Wickel 6 Greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
