Rachel Wyatt

These words from John Wesley best describe the life of Rachel Bergara Wyatt. Rachel celebrated her rebirth into eternal life on January 22, 2018, at the young age of 65. Rachel was born in Kenedy, TX on August 24, 1952. Her family then moved to Galveston, TX where she spent her childhood and graduated from Ball High School, Class of 1970. She married David Wyatt of Texas City on July 15th, 1977.Over the course of her life she worked for several prominent law firms, followed by a successful career with the City of Texas City. She was a dedicated employee who loved to help others through service. She retired in 2012 after many years of commitment to the workforce. Not one to sit around, Rachel then went to join her husband in real estate sales and property management in Texas City.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
Rachel will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, David, and her children Stefani (David) Davalos of Pearland, Mathew (Elizabeth) Wyatt of Galveston, and Anais (Allison) Barroso of Pikeville, NC; as well as her 4 adoring grandchildren, Blake and Brooklynn Davalos, and Deagan and Trent Wyatt. She will also be fondly remembered by her mother, Ophelia Bryant, brother, Robert Bergara, sisters Becki (Barry) Wortham and Roana (Gary) Cornett, and numerous nieces and nephews. She deeply cherished time spent with family, loved her children and grandchildren fiercely, and exemplified the truest character in all she did. She was a firecracker, whose selfless, dependable, and spirited character has left an imprint on the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The light of God's radiant love and knowledge transcends all understanding, and surely God now holds Rachel close in his everlasting presence.
Pallbearers will be Dee Williams, Harold Fattig, Daniel Davalos, Kenneth Clark, Phil Landon, and Jimmy Jiminez. Honorary Pallbearers are all the men and women of the Texas City Fire Department, Burt Mounts, Eddie Dahl, and Leon Boone. In lieu of customary remembrances, donations in the memory of Rachel can be made to the Texas City Public Library, Salvation Army, M.D. Anderson, or the charity of your choice.
