Randle Allen Skillman, 88, of Texas City, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Galveston Memorial Park.

Randle Allen Skillman III, 88, was born in Galveston, TX on September 29, 1929. He received an honorable discharge from the Navy where he was an Aviation Electronicsman 3c and helped his squadron fly reconnaissance patrols over enemy-held coasts during the Korean War. While stationed in Corpus Christi, TX he met and married the love of his life Vivian Skillman, to whom he remained married for 52 years, before her passing in 2006. Randle better known as "Randy" resided in Texas City until his death. He was employed by Union Carbide, where he worked for 34 years, until he retired in 1992. Randy supported many things in his community often volunteering his time.

He loved football and supported many local and college teams especially his Texas Longhorns. He continued his passion for aviation by building and flying biplanes, his favorite sporting the iron cross and modeled to mirror that of the WWI pilot, the "Red Baron". Randy was an avid collector of coins, could work a Rubik's cube in minutes and never met a crossword he didn't like. He loved to read and learn and his knowledges in regards to his interests, was endless. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Randle and Mary Skillman, and his loving wife Vivian Skillman. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Peace (Dennis), grandchildren Skye Clark (Maigan) and Erin Schlageter (Andrew), great-grandchildren Devon Clark (Malia), Logan Moy and Lainey Schlageter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Schlageter, David Carlson, Skye Clark, Devon Clark, Marcus Quinn, Dennis Peace and Cameron Cox.

He was an incredible man, who touched many people's lives and will truly be missed. Special "Thanks" to all the nurses, Hospice Care Team, Bonnie Macklin and Amber Cornitius- Roberts & Family.
