Robert Douglas Ervin

Robert Douglas Ervin, 66, of Texas City, died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Robert enjoyed singing, playing guitar, golfing, and hunting with family and friends. He was also very skilled in woodworking and loved tinkering in his shop. He loved socializing and never met a stranger he wouldn't talk to or share a laugh with. He retired from Operations at Eastman Chemicals in July 2022.

Robert was preceded in death his parents Edward L. Ervin, Sr and Margaret A. Ervin and a brother Lawrence Allen Ervin and his beloved dog Ginger.

Robert leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Tresa Ervin, daughter Amy Ervin, son Brian Ervin, brothers Edward L. Ervin, Jr., and Ralph Ervin and wife Kathie, sister Karen Ervin, brother-in-law Robert Spier and a very special person, who was like a daughter to him, Natalie Williams.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at MD Anderson and the great care he received from all the Village Hospice Team.

A memorial service celebrating Roberts' life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Gulf Coast Foursquare Church, 6205 Delany Rd., Hitchcock, Texas, with Pastor John Elliott officiating.
