Robert "RV" Vanford Farlow of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 13, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on January 9, 1947, in Lucedale, MS. Robert (RV) was a man defined by strength, loyalty, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army, where he also enjoyed playing basketball during his time in the military.
On January 12, 1970, RV married the love of his life, Carolyn Houdyshell. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, family, and cherished memories over the 56 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was one admired by all who knew them.
RV was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He and Carolyn raised two children, Christy Jo and Robert William, who were the pride and joy of his life. RV worked tirelessly to provide for his family, owning and operating his own drywall company for many years. No matter how long or hard the workday had been, he never missed his children's sporting events and was always their biggest supporter from the sidelines.
One of RV's greatest passions was drag racing, which he began in the 60's Racing became more than a hobby it became a lifelong legacy he shared with his son and grandson throughout the years. He treasured every moment spent at the track with his family, and his name became well known and respected within the racing community.
RV especially adored his four grandchildren, Devin, Taylor, Alexis, and Brennan and loved spending time with them. He was proud of the lives his children and grandchildren created and instilled in them the values of strength, dignity, respect, love, and hard work.
In 2024, RV was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. Through every step of the journey, his beloved wife Carolyn remained faithfully by his side, caring for him with endless love and devotion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William Farlow; his brothers, Colonel Farlow and William Farlow; his beloved wife of 56 years, Carolyn Farlow; his brother-in-law, Ulis "Bill" Howard and Arthur Evans Houdyshell.
RV is survived by his loving daughter, Christy Belluomini and husband James; his son, Robert Farlow and wife Carol; his cherished grandchildren, Devin Belluomini, Taylor Belluomini, Alexis Farlow, and Brennan Farlow; his sister, Mary Howard; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Farlow; along with multiple nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
Robert "RV" Farlow will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, hard work, kindness, and passion for racing will continue to live on through his family, friends, and the racing community he loved so dearly.
