Robert Orville Howard

Robert O. Howard, known to most as Orville, of Texas City, Texas, went to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 1, 2024.

He was born September 29, 1930, in Hampton, AK to James and Sally Howard.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Howard.

He is survived by his loving children Jeanice Pursley and Roger Howard; granddaughters, Misty John and Sunny Smith; great granddaughter, Jayda John; great grandsons, Gavin Smith-John, Christopher and George Smith; great great grandson, Zayden Smith-John and numerous nieces and nephews.

Orville lived his life as a man of God, serving as a deacon at First Assembly of God for many years. He loved to fish and work with his hands and could regularly be found tinkering with something around the house.

His work here on earth is complete and now he is receiving his rewards in heaven.

A visitation with friends and loved ones will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor John Humphries officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
