Robin Deutsch

Robin Hecht Deutsch passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Houston, Texas at age 56.  Robin was almost unselfish to a fault.  She cared more about other people than herself.  If she committed to something, she gave her all whether it was fundraising, building a business, or listening and advising her kids.

Robin was most proud of her three sons—Alex, Aaron, and Adam.  They were the light of her life and brought her boundless joy.  Robin was happiest when she was at home with her boys.  She kept a sign on her desk that said, “I am a Mom.  What’s your superpower?”  As a Mother, she was a real super hero.

Robin’s life partner was her beloved husband Lance.  Together, they built a thriving business, Deutsch Fine Jewelry, which came to be regarded as Houston’s premier jewelry business.  Robin was a regular presence at the store, working along side Lance.  Robin and Lance loved to attend their boys’ sporting events, travel, fly fish together, and spend evenings at home.  Robin loved to cook . . . by telling Lance what to order.

Robin loved dogs more than she loved most people.  Her golden retrievers— Amigo and Chico —were treated like her children.  She was a tireless advocate for the protection of dogs.  She served on the Board of PetSet, and was recently honored by Citizens for Animal Protection at the annual gala.

Robin grew up in Houston.  She went to St. John’s School and Memorial High School and the University of Arizona—where two of her sons now go. She was active in various civic causes, such as Hero’s for Children.  Robin was an active member of the Jewish community in Houston.  She was known as a fiercely loyal friend.

Robin is survived by her husband, Lance, her sons, Alex, Aaron, and Adam, her parents, Punkin and Walter Hecht, and her brother, Mark Hecht.  Robin was the granddaughter of the late Kitty and Alex Deutser and Mae and Edmund Hecht, and the daughter-in-law of Marcia and Russell Deutsch.

The family asks that anyone wishing to make a contribution in Robin’s honor contribute to PetSet Houston.

Memorial services will be held in the Bender Chapel at the Congregation Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Rd., Houston, Texas 77055 on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:30PM.  For those who cannot make it in person, the service will be live-streamed from the Beth Yeshurun website for the Bender Memorial Chapel. https://venue.streamspot.com/f8d04b5b
