Jerry Robin Lyons Motley died peacefully at home in Magnolia, Texas on Friday, August 7, 2026 with her devoted husband and son at her side, surrounded by the love of her family.

Known to all who loved her as Robin, she was born on February 24, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Tony Jack Lyons and Jerry Daniel Lyons. She grew up in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma where she attended school from kindergarten through graduation from Pryor High School in 1964. A gifted and enthusiastic thespian, Robin brought creativity, poise, and spirit to all she did. She later attended the University of New Mexico.

Throughout her life, Robin was devoted to her family, including her siblings, Dana, Chris, and Mark. She loved being busy and gave the same energy and care to her professional life that she gave to her home.

Robin shared a strong and unwavering love with her husband, Gerald, for 54 years. Together they built a beautiful family, pursued meaningful careers, and created countless cherished memories. Among them were treasured trips to Red River and the many gatherings, adventures and everyday moments that made their life together so full.

Robin was immensely proud of her three sons, Stewart, Marshall, and Morgan. She treasured the years spent at home raising them and was a constant presence in the things they loved - cheering from the pool deck at swim meets and from the sidelines or press box at little league football and baseball games. She took great joy in watching them become the men they are today. Her love for her boys was steadfast, encouraging and never in doubt.

Robin gave her time generously to the communities she called home. She and Gerald were longtime volunteers with the Jaycees, she was an active member of the Harris County Republican Party, and she took part in the homeowners' association of every neighborhood in which she lived, always ready to lend her energy and her opinions to the place she lived.

In the final two decades of her life, Robin's greatest joy was being "Birdie" to her three granddaughters, Audrey, Caroline, and Reagan. With each of them she shared her extraordinary curiosity and her passion for life. She delighted in tea parties, special trips, shared traditions, and teaching them about history, manners, and the many small graces of life. Every moment with the girls was precious to her, and she knew her love will remain part of who they become.

Robin loved being outdoors in God's creation. As a girl, she enjoyed Girl Scout camps and visits to her family's ranch in Wyoming. As an adult, she tended her beautiful yard - and even in her final days, she found comfort in being able to see it from her bed.

Robin's talents and interests spanned the gamut. She was a voracious reader, a masterful seamstress, a creative cook, and a collector of antiques and friends, and she believed that playing Bridge was about as close to Heaven as one could get. Few women were as elegant: no matter the occasion, Robin dressed to the nines in fashionable clothing, her beloved turquoise jewelry, and Cajun Shrimp nail color. She loved entertaining and had the rare gift of making every guest feel especially welcome, enjoying a witty conversation, delighting in learning about others, and making people feel seen.

Robin was generous with her love, her opinions, and her encouragement. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends whose lives she enriched so beautifully.

Robin is preceded in death by her father, Tony Jack Lyons, her mother, Jerry Daniel Lyons, and her sister, Christina Lynn Lyons. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald Motley; her sons and their families, Stewart, Nicole and Reagan Motley, Marshall, Nancy, Audrey, and Caroline Motley, and Morgan Motley; her siblings, Dana L. Lamb and husband, Nash, Christopher B. Lyons and wife, Andrea, and Mark D. Lyons; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A service celebrating Robin's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Church of the Good Shepherd, 801 E. Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375. In keeping with Robin's wishes, the service will be a celebration of life, and all are invited to join the family with her joyful spirit in mind.
