Rosalie Voorhees Stigletts was born in Texas City on September 24, 1920, and passed away on May 16, 2016 in Allen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.J. "Bud" Stigletts, her parents, Willis Drummond Voorhees and Sallie Garrett Voorhees, her brothers, Edward and Charles Voorhees, and sister, Gertrude Voorhees Huhn.

Rosalie is survived by daughters, Barbara Svoboda of Fairview, Texas, and Patricia Stringfield of Houston, Texas and stepson, Jason Stigletts, four grandchildren, Blayne Smith, James Craig, Sallie Stringfield and Sarah Svoboda, three step-grandchildren, Kenneth Stigletts, Tracey Mallow and Michael Stigletts, and three great grandchildren.

She had a great love of life and her family. She loved to travel and was always ready for the next adventure. During WWII, she was one of the first female employees to work in a refinery office in Texas City. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Rainbow Girls, The Houston Petroleum Industry's Samara Club, Colonial Dames, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution and various other organizations.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 19th at 1 p.m. at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.
