Roy Denny, Sr.

Roy Donald Denny, Sr., 91, of Texas City, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Mainland Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2016 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Roy D. Denny, Sr. was born January 4, 1925 in Carney, Oklahoma to parents William and Valeria Denny. He was a Sergeant in the US Army in WWII and a member of the Panthers Veterans Organization. Roy retired from Union Carbide as a Dock Supervisor. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Phyllis Dennis; son, Ronald Jackson, son in law, Timothy Bradley and three brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include his wife Ila Laverne Denny; son, Roy D. Denny, Jr. and wife Rene of La Marque; daughter, Marilyn S. Bradley of Texas City; five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and 3 great - great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jason Bradley, Roy Denny III, Darrell Phillips, Dennis Lankford, Christopher Martin and Cameron Denny.
