Ruby Campbell

Ruby Mae Leining Campbell, 92, left his earth on Monday, December 21, 2015 after a lengthy illness at Ashton Park Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Ruby Mae Leining Campbell was born in the family home on 16th Avenue in Texas City, in 1923, to August E. and Viola Leining. She and her family were charter members of the First United Methodist in Texas City and retired after years of working at Kroger. She and her sisters enjoyed decorating cakes and flower arranging. After her retirement, Ruby and her husband did extensive traveling and spent summers in Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roland Campbell; her children, Ramona Moeller and Robin Campbell; her sisters, Marie Bearden and Leona La Foy and Katherine Hicks as well as their husbands.

Mourning her loss is her son, Wayne Campbell and wife Shannon, of Idaho; grandchildren, Brad and Michelle Campbell and Logan and Cori Campbell of Wimberly, Ruby Campbell and David Campbell of Idaho, Michelle and Chris Schmal, William Campbell and Laura Moeller of Texas City; great grandchildren, Cody and Amanda Shield, Caresa Campbell and Alex Campbell.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brad Campbell, William Campbell, Chris Schmal; nephews, Robert Claunch, August La Foy and Lynn Hicks.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to First United Methodist Church in Texas City or a favorite charity of your choice.
