Sally Asher

Do not stand at the water and weep
I am not there I do not sleep,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on your garden,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of pelicans in circling flight

I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at the water and cry,
I am not there I did not die.

We, my sisters, brother and I, Angela Stephanie Trexler Asher, Pamela Gayle Asher, Gwenna Jere AsherKelton Grady, Fred Nance Kami and stepdaughter Tonya Renee Trexler are saddened by the loss of our mother Sally Joyce Sizemore Asher, but are blessed that she no longer suffers from her long battle with cancer since 2004.
She blessed the lives of so many by her caring touch and heart. She was given a gift from God, the ability to touch others lives when they were at their most vulnerable moment and gave them not only her caring touch, but most importantly, selfrespect and dignity. Our mother, Sally, loved to work in her garden, her passion, a gift passed on by her mother, Isabel Sizemore. Through her gift she gave back to so many, fresh vegetables and juicy tomatoes. It livened up her soul to be able to work and watch her garden grow and transform into a thing of beauty. Another gift she possessed was her ability to cook home cooked country meals, another gift passed on by her mother. There wasnt anyone who didnt ask has she made anymore of her biscuits, in hopes that they would benefit from this tasty delight.
From her father, James Arthur Sizemore, she received the gift of wisdom and insight. When she met a stranger, she possessed the ability to befriend them, to where they would later seek her out as their confidant.
From her sister, Shelby Sizemore Warren Harold, she received the gift of laughter and stories of her lineage, some of these which consisted of the days her father, James, served in the US Army participating in the campaign to capture Poncho Villa in 1916.
Her sister Linda Sizemore Rumple Dan was her second conscience, who spoke boldly and openly of her need to remain close to God and practice his spoken word.
Besides her loving and dedicated children, she leaves to cherish many lovable memories with her grandchildren, Joseph David Trexler, Christopher Blake Trexler, Mickenzy Asher Trexler, Autumn Gayle TrexlerRico Christopher, Joshua David, Alicia Marie Trexler, JC Trexler, Trevor Ryan Trexler and Tyler Reese Trexler will continue on with the SizemoreAsher legacy with pride and honor.
Now that she is resting in Jesus arms, she is comforted and surrounded by her parents, her brothers Stanley and Robert Bobby Sizemore sister Margaret Ann Sizemore Fox Ben Trexler and her high school sweetheart Fred Asher, our father.
Sally was born in the beautiful mountains of Beverly, Kentucky, a favorite vacation spot from the time we were small children. A bath consisted of bathing in a basin. The most challenging thing was making our way to the outhouse by moonlight while looking out for bears. These mountain communities called Red Bird Mountain and Ashers Fork were a childs haven a playground full of adventures and discovery of nature, an insight to a life prior to the technical age that now consumes our lives. Sally will be laid to rest in Asher Cemetery at a later date.
Some of those that cannot be left unspoken for are her many friends in particular Tonya Garza Trexler, Ben Trexler and Grace Winters.
A special thanks goes to EmkenLinton Funeral Home for all of their support in our time of grief.
